2015 Teaching Projects Announced

I haven’t posted in a while, but I want to announce 3 new teaching projects for 2015. One is a piece I made a while back, Cosmos, but I have not previously published the tutorial.

The second two are brand new pieces, Faux Ribbon and Starflower. The rope for Starflower is also new, called Rosie Posie Rope.

The best news about these new projects, is that I am already booked to teach them for the South Jersey Bead Society on April 25-26. These are exclusive class projects at this time, so if you are interested in having me teach any of them at your bead society or bead store, please contact me for rates and availability.

Photos of worn pieces above are by Hannah Combs Photography.

Fee Fi Faux Fun Bracelet Tutorial

I love right angle weave but it is a very slow stitch. Every unit requires a change in direction from clockwise to counter clockwise and then back again. Fortunately, there’s an easier way. Learn how to stitch a fabric of faux right angle weave (FRAW) by following this tutorial. Available for instant download here:

Starburst Earrings Tutorial Listed

It has been a very long time since I last posted a new tutorial. Hopefully this will be the first of many to be posted in the next few weeks. I also have a bracelet pattern being published in Interweave’s Quick & Easy Beadwork coming out later this year.

Facebook Auction

I am having an auction! My son was admitted to a Duke TIP summer camp (read expensive!) for gifted kids and I need to raise some money so that he can go. I dug through my personal jewelry collection and chose pieces that I will be auctioning off on Facebook over the next couple of weeks.

The first piece up for auction (current bid is only $45!) is the necklace and earring set I made for last year’s Battle of the Beadsmith competition.

The second is a cute netted bracelet I called Pink Lady. The current bid is $35.

New for today is my Tour d’Eiffel necklace. It features a bead embroidered pendant on a herringbone rope. Current bid $25.

More auctions will be added each day. I don’t have a specific ending date yet, so don’t wait or you’ll miss out!

Beadwork Cover!!!!!!

I am stoked beyond belief right now! I just went online to to see whether the October issue was showing as current yet and I saw my Quilt Cuff on the cover!!!! I had no idea they were using my piece for the cover and I’m overwhelmingly proud and excited. I hope everyone loves making this piece as much as I loved designing it! Thanks Interweave! <3
